Best yet!

I’m SO HAPPYYYYYY!  This is by far the best tote I’ve made so far!  I’m so proud of myself. I pranced around the apartment with the handbag slung around my shoulder and modeled it in front of the mirror.  I’m kind of glad I had a solo celebration.  Anyone would have thought I was acting a fool if they saw me giggling, chattering to myself and striking poses.

Reversible baby!  Two bags in one.  And it has pockets too!
True, I didn’t get to finish it last night, but that’s OK because I probably would have gone to bed around 6 a.m.  The handles took me a good while to get just right and closing the hole where I turn the bag right side out was tedious and slow going.  (Also, I took a break for dinner, watched an episode of Project Runway while I was at it and talked story with my roomy that came home earlier than I expected.)  Next time, I’ll try harder to aim for a one-day turnaround.  It’ll be 24 hours of straight sewing.  No TV.   No computer. Eat at the workstation and pee in a bag (just kidding!).

btw, do you have NAMES for all of these babies? they are your babies, after all you birthed them with your hands and creative mind and soul!!!

Hey Trish!

Nope, same size! I don't know why I didn't think of making it reversible sooner.

As for names, Shar and I have bounced around a few ideas. At first, we thought about naming them after important women in our lives, but everyone has done that. Then, we thought about our favorite drinks, but we don't want to seem like alcoholics. Not sure what we'll do, especially when we couldn't remember the names in the first place. Any suggestions?

Don't lie, I bet you have a bag somewhere near that sewing table!

You have more pictures of me that I do! I don't even remember taking the pics you put up.

Love you!

What about naming the bags after places? You seem to like to travel and your tote bags would make great traveling bags since they look like they could fit a lot of stuff, so naming them after places could work. Anyway, just a thought. Keep up the good work.

Dear Anonymous Fashionista,

Thank you for your suggestion. Naming the bags after places was our first inclination, though I forget why we didn't roll with it. Maybe it's something we should stick with after all! Perhaps towns or cities in Hawaii? It would be a way to pay homage to our culture and beloved home state. Shar and I have a lot of brainstorming to do . . . over cocktails, of course! Thanks again for your thoughts.
